Bigha Corridor is a Fragment of land belonging to India. It is located
between Dahagram–Angarpota enclaves at Kucalibari Union in Patgram
sub-district of Lalmonirhat on
the West Bengal–Bangladesh border. which in September, 2011, was leased to
Bangladesh so that it can access its Dahagram–Angarpota enclaves.
According to the Indira-Sheikh Mujib treaty of 1974, India and Bangladesh were to hand over the control of the Teen Bigha (Teen is three in Bengali, and bigha is a component of area generally 1,500 to 6,771 square meters) Corridor (178 x 85 sq m) and South Berubari (7.39 sq km) to each other, thereby allowing entrance in the direction of the Dahagram Angarpota enclaves and the Indian enclaves neighboring to South Berubari. Bangladesh did hand over the bigger South Berubari to India in 1974. India, however, Rejected to transfer the much minor Teen Bigha Corridor to Bangladesh.
